Welcome to November, folks. In Poland, this month is known as “listopad,” which literally means “leaves fall.” November itself means the 9th month, even though it is actually the 11th. Go figure.

We’ve begun receiving submissions for The Martian Wave and The Fifth Di… However, whenever a publisher moves the furniture around, sometimes things get misplaced. So it is with guidelines. To help you find what you want, here are the guidelines lynx for the two publications.

Let’s see those stories!

The same rule regarding publishing furniture applies to a magazine for younger readers, titled: Spaceports & Spidersilk. This used to be a digital publication from Nomadic Delirium Press. Now it is published by Alban Lake Publishing three times a year, in print. Marcie Lynn Tentchoff is the editor. Currently she is reading for the first print issue, February 2020. Here is the guidelines link for this publication:

Stories, poems, art. Read the guidelines, and send ‘em!

In our Glitch of the Week category, some folks have had difficulty locating the guidelines for our Drabble contests. At the moment, Drabble Contest #15 is closed, and we’re working on the final edits. With luck, we would like to have the publication out by 1 December.

Drabble Contest #16, theme TBD, will open in January or February, at which time the View from the Lake will present all you need to know, including the submission guidelines. Watch for it!

Thanks to a change in printing and publishing procedures instituted by the illustrious and hair-color-changing Karen Otto, we are now getting some of our publications into bookstore and other venues where books are sold. This means the works we publish—your works—are gradually gaining a wider audience, which really is what you want, n’est-ce pas? We’ve had decent sales, including FrostFire Worlds, the hardcover print digest of SF/F for younger readers, and Illumen, our quarterly poetry digest. Hold the applause, please. We still have a lot of work to do. But we’re getting there.

Nyx #5: The Redoubt has gone to print and should be listed shortly. The books in this series can be read in any order, so you could start with this one.

In other Nyx news, the first three books in the series will soon be available in one hardback book. It has already gone to print, so watch for the listing in the Alban Lake bookstore. Just do a search for Nyx. It will come up when it gets listed, which should be in the next few days.

Okay, that’s all for this month from the Cosmic Overlord.
